Why should I hire a makeup artist?
There are many things to worry about on your wedding day...how your makeup is going to look, who is applying it, will it last and other beauty related questions shouldn’t be on the list. Makeup is one component that will stand the test of time in your photos from the most important day of your life. It is important that a professional is applying it. Our incredible team at Gutz & Glam are experts in products that will work best with your skin and last all day (or night) with minimal touch ups necessary. We’ve gone through extensive training and education to make sure that the best colors and products are used to suit your skin type, tone and preferences. It is truly a luxury service that has never been regretted by any of our clients.
How do I book?
When you decide to book, a 50% deposit, signed contract, and both completed intake forms will secure the date. Deposits are non-refundable. The remaining balance is due before services begin on the morning of your wedding/event. Dates are booked on a first come, first serve basis, and will not be finalized until a contract and deposit are received. A verbal agreement through text/email/phone will not be sufficient to secure your appointment. Please contact us or text us with any questions you may have prior to scheduling.
Do you travel to me or do I have to come to you?
Our key artist, Karsyn, will travel to you. Part of the luxury of hiring an elite makeup artist from Gutz & Glam is not having to leave your place of comfort and have the artist bring the makeup studio to you.
Do you charge a travel fee?
Yes, after a 40 mile round trip, there will be a travel fee added to your balance. The exact fee, along with travel and hotel accommodations, will be based on your specific location, and can be discussed at your time of booking. Contact us or text us with any questions you may have regarding the travel fee.
Do you offer hair services?
Our artists at Gutz & Glam specialize in bridal, beauty and boudoir makeup, and that is our area of expertise. Perfected, prestige-level makeup artistry is the core of our company and because of this, we do not offer hair cut, color or styling services. In our experience, when there is a large wedding party, members will be on a tight schedule. Multiple stylists will be necessary to ensure everyone gets ready on time. We have found that choosing artists who are specialized in their own crafts produces the most beautiful results. If you are interested in a recommendations for bridal hairstylists, we have worked with many amazing stylists that we trust to refer, and will gladly put you in touch with them!
Do you offer airbrush makeup services?
Our key artist Karsyn has been extensively trained in airbrush and owns a machine. We generally prefer to use more traditional methods of makeup application as they are more customizable to your skin tone, type and preferences. However, if you are set on airbrush, it is absolutely an option!
I’ve never worked with a professional makeup artist before…how do I prepare for my bridal preview?
1. Relax
Gutz & Glam is committed to turning your ultimate bridal visions into reality. We are here to bring out the beauty within you! This is your time to glow. We’re there with you every step of the way.
2. Stay hydrated
Hydrated skin is happy skin! Drink enough water in the days leading up to your appointment to ensure your skin is ready to receive makeup. This will allow the products to perform optimally, giving you beautiful results.
3. Consider a facial treatment
Many spas and salons offer facial services specifically for soon-to-be brides. These treatments are tailored to address your personal skin concerns and treatments, resulting in flawless, radiant skin. It is recommended to begin treatments about a month prior to your wedding.
4. Have inspiration photos
In order to help you communicate your vision to us, please have 1-3 images of makeup that fits your style to bring to your preview. Instagram, Pinterest and Google are all great sources to utilize. The photos don’t have to be exact, we can always tailor to your preferences during the discovery phase of your preview.
5. Enjoy!
The most important part of your preview is to enjoy yourself. This is a sneak peek before your big day! Time to get excited. Communicate openly with your artist about your likes/dislikes. That way, you are fully satisfied with your preview. If there is any part of your makeup that you would like to add anything to or change, we absolutely can! We’re here for you!
How long are you with the bride on her wedding day?
That’s up to the bride! If you choose to have an artist with you after the time it takes to get you and your party ready, they can be booked hourly for touch-ups. If you’d prefer the artist stays available for the entire length of your wedding, they will be happy to discuss their day rate with you. This helps put the bride at ease, being confident that her makeup will stay the freshest it can be throughout the entire event.
